The University of Montpellier ranks highly in the 2024 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings

The University of Montpellier has confirmed its high ranking in The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings. In itssixth edition, it has maintained its position in the overall ranking among the world's top 101-200 institutions and ranks among the top three French institutions for its long-standing commitment to sustainable development.

The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings aim to measure the commitment and performance of higher education institutions in terms of sustainable development. This innovative ranking goes beyond analyzing research or training, taking a more societal approach. It is based on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the United Nations in 2015. A total of 1,591 universities participated in this fifth edition. Since the ranking was created in 2019, the University of Montpellier has been represented every year, highlighting its commitment to sustainable development and social responsibility. This year, it ranks in the global top 100 for four goals related to the institution's major themes: feeding, caring for, and protecting.

"The University of Montpellier is honored to be recognized in the top 200 worldwide and in the top 3 nationally in the THE Impact Rankings in 2024. Our position, both in France and internationally, year after year, demonstrates our commitment and strong dedication to sustainable development. This distinction is certainly not a coincidence, but rather the result of our constant determination to continuously improve," said Philippe Augé, President of the University of Montpellier.
