Goal: First Job

Mock interviews, hands-on workshops, meetings with business leaders, lectures… This fall, UM is supporting its students and alumni as they embark on their journey toward their first job. As a top priority for the university, graduate employment will soon be the focus of two upcoming events at UM.

“Transition to Employment” Day, October 15

For one day, UM Master’s and doctoral graduates are invited to return to the university for hands-on workshops led by career professionals. Four workshops are available. On the agenda: practical methods and tips for an effective job search.
The workshop schedule:

  • the resume and cover letter
  • Job interviews and new recruitment methods
  • understand and develop your career plan
  • build and engage with one's networks

A panel discussion will be held on the same day on the topic: “Steps to Take for an Effective Job Search”
Thursday, October 15, from 1:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. at the Aimé Schoenig Student Center, Richter Campus

This event is organized in partnership with key industry stakeholders: the Association for Executive Employment (APEC), Pôle Emploi, the National Association of HR Directors (ANDRH), MEDEF, the General Confederation of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (CGPME), and the UM Entreprendre Foundation.

University-Business Networking Event, November 5

At the heart of these events is the job interview, an essential step toward securing employment. This is not something that can be improvised, and our speakers will shed light on the challenges and pitfalls involved.
Two highlights on the program:

  • Panel discussion on recruitment titled “Different Perspectives on the Job Interview,” moderated by journalist Guillaume Mollaret, featuring human resources directors, business leaders, recruitment specialists (ANDRH, APEC, MEDEF, Pôle Emploi, recruitment firms), and alumni.
  • Professional interviews with companies specializing in specific industries, offering the chance to practice in real-world conditions and improve your performance through individual debriefings (advance registration required). More than 30 recruiters will be in attendance.

This event is intended for Master’s 2 students at the Richter campus—Faculties of Economics and AES, IPAG, and ISEM—as well as Master’s 2 students and5th- and6th-year health science students.
