“Pink October”: the right habits to adopt from age 25 onwards

As part of the 30th anniversary of "Pink October," the University of Montpellier is joining the national campaign to raise awareness and provide information about breast cancer screening.

Every year, more than 60,000 women are affected by this disease. If detected early, it can be cured in 90% of cases. While screening every two years is recommended from the age of 50, an annual clinical examination (observation, palpation) is encouraged from the age of 25, so why not start now? Throughout the year, the Joint Preventive Medicine and Health Promotion Service (SCMPPS) and the University Health Center (students only) offer free medical and gynecological consultations.

After doing so on October 9, 2023, with students at the UFR STAPS, the SCMPPS and the Montpellier Association of Midwifery Students (AMESF) are organizing a workshop on palpation and information on breast and cervical cancer prevention and HPV vaccination for UM staff on October 16 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of the administrative restaurant on the Triolet campus.
