“Pink October”: Good Habits to Adopt Starting at Age 25
As part of the 30th anniversary of “Pink October,” the University of Montpellier is joining the national information and awareness campaign on breast cancer screening.

Every year, more than 60,000 women are affected by this disease. When detected early, it is curable in 90% of cases. While screening every two years is recommended starting at age 50, an annual clinical exam (visual inspection and palpation) is encouraged starting at age 25—so why not start now? Throughout the year, the Joint Service for Preventive Medicine and Health Promotion (SCMPPS) and the University Health Center (for female students only) are available to provide free medical and gynecological consultations.
Following the event held on October 9, 2023, for students at the UFR STAPS, the SCMPPS and the Montpellier Association of Midwifery Students (AMESF) are organizing a workshop on breast and cervical cancer screening and prevention, as well as HPV vaccination, forUM staffUM October 16 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of the administrative cafeteria on the Triolet campus.
