"October Rose": the right reflexes from the age of 25
As part of the 30th anniversary of "Octobre Rose" (Pink October), the University of Montpellier is joining the national campaign to inform and raise awareness of breast cancer screening.
Every year, more than 60,000 women are affected by this disease. If detected early, it can be cured in 90% of cases. While screening every two years is recommended from the age of 50, an annual clinical examination (observation, palpation) is encouraged from the age of 25 - so why not now? Throughout the year, the Service commun de médecine préventive et de promotion de la santé (SCMPPS) and the Centre de soins universitaire (students only) welcome you for free medical and gynecological consultations.
Having already done so on October 9, 2023 with students at the UFR STAPS, the SCMPPS and the Association montpelliéraine des étudiantes et étudiants sages-femmes (AMESF) are organizing a palpation and information workshop on breast and cervical cancer prevention and HPV vaccination for UM staff on October 16 from 11am to 2pm in front of the administrative restaurant on the Triolet campus.
