Innovation Award

Encouraging and promoting innovative initiatives by the five Research Clusters at the University of Montpellier. Each year, this call for projects, open to staff at the University of Montpellier and partner institutions in the ISITE Program of Excellence (PEI), rewards the best initiatives in the field of innovation. The 2025 Innovation Awards ceremony is scheduled for July 8 at the Jardin des Plantes in Montpellier during an after-work innovation event.  

Are you a researcher and would like to participate in the "Innovation Award"?

  • Researchers or research groups applying for the "Innovation Award" must be permanent or non-permanent staff members of an institution that is a member of the ISITE Program of Excellence (PEI).
  • Applications must be accompanied by a resume in PDF format and sent by email.

Awards presented at the "Innovation Awards"

  • Each winner will receive a personal prize of €3,000 (three thousand euros), which will be awarded at a ceremony.
  • Six winning projects will be selected by the jury: five corresponding to the Research centers Research PEI partner institutions and one, named the "Prix Coup de Cœur" (Favorite Award), created with the aim of promoting innovation between , across, and beyond all disciplines.

The jury

The Innovation Award Project Manager, valuation advisors, and scientific advisors are responsible for evaluating proposals and ranking eligible applications. The Project Manager will submit the applications to the COM'IN (Innovation and Investment Committee) of the Montpellier University Innovation Cluster for a decision.

COM'IN is a body composed of:

  • Representatives of the founding institutions of the PUI;
  • Representatives of recycling subsidiaries;
  • Directors of Research Centers or their representatives;
  • Guests, designated scientific or technical experts.
