"Everyone out there: installations designed and created with students".

Throughout the 2022/2023 academic year, Maddalena Pornaro and Virginie Terroitin, architects with the collectif l amicaleinvited students and staff from the Carcassonne site of the Faculty of Education (formerly IUFM) to collectively imagine and build artistic ways of developing the park: installations for eating, resting, playing, working... By questioning uses, desires, encounters and desires, they helped to make it a living space in its own right. An artists' residency entitled "Tout le monde dehors".

A participatory residency

The project mobilized the university community after a period marked by the COVID and the dormancy of student life. Through the encounters and sensitive devices they set up, the architects invited the participants to shift their gaze on this place of university life and on those who bring it to life. The involvement of each and every one in this collective project created a real sense of emulation and inspired the desire to pursue this collective dynamic.

On an individual level, each person's personality was taken into account, enabling them to find their place, to develop and to make the most of their human and/or technical skills.

We can imagine that this residency will remain a highlight, and that its ramifications will be felt in the projects undertaken by future teachers trained at the Faculty of Education.

A residency proposed by the art & culture department - campus life division of the University of Montpellier in partnership with the Faculty of Education. This artists' residency was supported by the DRAC Occitanie and co-financed by the CVEC (Contribution vie étudiante et de campus).
