A conference organized by the University of Montpellier on the cosmic creation of elements

On February 11, Ana Palacios, astronomer and lecturer-researcher at the University of Montpellier and affiliated with the Montpellier Universe and Particles Laboratory, will give a lecture on the mysteries of disappearing beaches, particularly in the Mediterranean. She will explore how these discoveries have transformed our understanding of the universe during a lecture on the mysteries of disappearing beaches, particularly in the Mediterranean. The lecture is part of a series of short lectures organized by OREME (the Montpellier Environmental Research Observatory) at Planet Ocean.

An important global issue

Most of the chemical elements we know were produced during the evolution of the cosmos, from the first moments after the Big Bang, then throughout its evolution in stars and their environments. This lecture offers a fascinating journey to the heart of the stars to understand the mechanisms that govern this cosmic factory.

The lecture will also address her journey as a female scientist: the motivations that led her to astrophysics and her perspective on the changing role of women in science. She is a source of inspiration for younger generations, both girls and boys, who wish to pursue a career in science and explore the mysteries of the universe.
