A conference organized by the University of Montpellier on the enigma of disappearing beaches in the Mediterranean.
On Tuesday December 3, beach physicist Frédéric Bouchette, a professor at Montpellier University and the Geosciences Laboratory, will present the results of his work at a conference on the mysteries of disappearing beaches, particularly in the Mediterranean. The lecture is part of the OREME (Montpellier's environmental research observatory) small conferences at Planet Ocean.
By invitation only
An important local theme
Coastline shifts and variations in sand volumes are both spectacular and complex. This lecture analyzes how sandy coastlines function, and their sensitivity to climate change and human activity. Using examples from the Mediterranean, we'll explore the creation, transformation and disappearance of coastlines, and challenge preconceived ideas about erosion and submersion. Dive into the heart of coastal environmental challenges
