Montpellier Association of Midwifery Students (AMESF)

Activities and Objectives of the Association

The Montpellier Association of Midwifery Students (AMESF) aims to support all midwifery students in the Department of Midwifery in Montpellier throughout their five years of study.

This support includes academic assistance, such as providing informational booklets at the start of the academic year for students in their second and third years of undergraduate studies and their first and second years of graduate studies, arranging for course materials to be printed, compiling past exam papers, and purchasing internship supplies at a discount.

The association is also committed to advocating for and representing midwifery students, whether at the local level through the AGEM (General Association of Montpellier Students) or at the national level through the ANESF (National Association of Midwifery Students).

AMESF is also committed to addressing social and community issues, which is why it participates in events such as Pink October, the Telethon, Sidaction, the Teddy Bear Hospital, and Montpellier Reine, among others. This year, it is once again organizing a concert to benefit the “Naître en Rose” association.

The association offers two services to its members:

  • SOS Nounou, which connects midwifery students with parents looking for childcare;
  • the sale of fruit and vegetable baskets from a local farmer.

Finally, it offers activities that are both fun and bring people together, such as wellness workshops, inter-class dinners, and the traditional end-of-year gala.
Despite the current health crisis, it strives to stay in touch with its members as much as possible through social media and by organizing remote events (virtual study sessions to review together, game workshops, workshops for exchanging and sharing internship experiences, book sharing, sophrology, yoga, awareness-raising through Facebook and Instagram posts, etc.).
