The Interlude

Activities and objectives of the association

The missions of the La ParenThèse association, established under the French law of 1901, are:

  • to combat student dropout and isolation during scientific writing activities (master's thesis, doctoral thesis);
  • to accelerate their graduation;
  • to promote their employability, in particular by creating an interdisciplinary social and professional network during the writing activity.

To achieve this, team members organize three types of events that bring together between 10 and 15 student participants (in person) and around 40 students (online).

These events are related to a scientific production process:

  • writing events (writing days, writing retreats, and mini-ParenThèses);
  • mutual aid and exchange events (Plume Doc workshops, Master Class);
  • disconnection events (AfterThèse days in the great outdoors).
