Languedoc-Roussillon Resident Physicians' Union (SILR)
Activities and Objectives of the Association
The Languedoc-Roussillon Resident Physicians' Union (SILR) is an association founded in 2005 dedicated to defending the rights of medical residents in all specialties within the Montpellier-Nîmes region.

Its missions fall into four main categories:
- Coordinating internship placements: a labor-intensive process involving our administrative assistants and dozens of different contacts to ensure that we best meet the expectations and needs of the interns.
- regular communication with the School of Medicine, the Department of General Medicine, hospital teaching centers, and the Regional Health Agency (ARS) to ensure adequate training and a satisfactory quality of life throughout the subdivision.
- trade union advocacy, which involves conducting negotiations and even taking legal action to defend workers' rights.
- last but not least, organizing activities for the interns, such as team-building events, sports and cultural activities, and social gatherings to unwind after a long day or week of clinical rotations!
