Capacity Building – Innovation Training

Content type: Page
Since 2020, the “capacity building” program—an initiative led by the University Innovation Hub (PUI)—has been offered to all staff (administrative staff, doctoral students, researchers, and project leaders) at PUI partner institutions. This targeted training program in innovation and research commercialization aims to strengthen the skills of participants involved in supporting or developing innovative projects. The Objectives of "Capacity Building" The capacity building program is part of the Montpellier PUI’s strategy, offering sessions led by innovation experts for staff involved in supporting and developing innovative projects in the Montpellier region. Through one or more modules, it will enable each participant to learn or reinforce key concepts in innovation (intellectual property, negotiation, product or service development, funding for collaborative research, public speaking, etc.). Why participate in "Capacity Building"? Acquire or strengthen your skills in innovation and the commercialization of research; Gain an understanding of the concepts and challenges involved in further developing your innovative project; Meet innovation experts and create synergies; A flexible training program, allowing you to choose which modules to take or explore in greater depth based on your needs. Eligibility requirements Be employed by a PUI partner organization and involved in innovation initiatives, whether as administrative staff, a doctoral student, Professor, a faculty researcher, or a researcher; or be the lead on a project supported by the PUI (prior to business creation). Training topics: Negotiation: acquire negotiation techniques within the context of research partnerships and innovative projects. Intellectual property: understand the rights and principles of protection in order to define a protection and commercialization strategy tailored to your project and market. Public Speaking: acquire the skills needed to structure and effectively present an innovative project to a target audience. Bringing Medical Devices or Drugs to Market: understand the key stages of development and master the regulatory, technical, and financial aspects of developing a medical or digital device. Public/Private Research Project Funding: Understand the major public funding mechanisms and key stakeholders, identify the appropriate funding sources for each project, understand evaluation criteria, and master the concepts of compliance and project management. 2025-2026 Training Cycle Catalog Download the Capacity Building Training Catalog Registration Register for "Capacity Building"

Workshop: "Setting Up a LABCOM"

Content type: Page
At the University Innovation Hub (PUI), thematic workshops designed to raise awareness of initiatives that promote innovation are offered to staff members, researchers from PUI partners, as well as interested companies and startups. The first workshop, titled “I’m Setting Up an ANR LABCOM,” designed for researchers, project leaders, and representatives of companies and startups, explores in detail the ANR LABCOM program, which aims to encourage academic researchers to establish structured partnerships with companies. These partnerships take the form of “Joint Laboratories” created in collaboration between a Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise (SME) or a Mid-Sized Enterprise (MSE) and a research organization’s laboratory. The workshops, led by staff from PUI member institutions dedicated to partnerships and commercialization, will be followed by personalized meetings designed to offer participants—including companies and startups—dedicated support in the process of preparing an application. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBDZdAZQkmg
