"Setting Up a LABCOM" Workshop
As part of the University Innovation Hub (PUI), thematic workshops to raise awareness of the Joint Laboratories, called “ LabCom ,” are offered to administrative staff, researchers at the Montpellier PUI, and stakeholders from the socio-economic sector. The goal of these joint laboratories is to facilitate research collaborations between a research laboratory and a startup, an SME, or a mid-sized company.
Led by PUI partnership and outreach coordinators in Montpellier, the workshops—offered as webinars—are followed by one-on-one meetings to help each participant establish connections and/or put together their application.
WHAT THE WORKSHOP OFFERS
- explore the various LabCom models and support their development through theCompanies and Campus initiative;
- Identify the legal, organizational, governance, and intellectual property issues associated with establishing a LabCom;
- prepare the funding proposal, formalize mutual commitments, and define the operating procedures;
- meet with key players in the ecosystem and develop new opportunities for research collaboration.
HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS
- Registration for the webinar is now open;
- Participation in the workshop: an introduction to funding programs and their eligibility criteria;
- individualized support, tailored to identified needs, provided by the program managers in the Partnership and Outreach Services division of the Montpellier PUI;
- project monitoring.
KEY FIGURES
- 370 registrants across all webinars;
- 90 participants per session;
- Project leaders secured 4.3 million euros in funding;
- 12 LabCom projects funded by the ANR since 2020;
- Two ANR Industrial Chair projects have been awarded since 2024.
