Host-Pathogen-Environment Interactions (HPE)
The “Host-Pathogen-Environment Interactions” (IHPE) laboratory is a Joint Research Unit Research UMR 5244) under the joint supervision of the University of Perpignan Via Domitia (UPVD), the National Center for Research (CNRS / INEE Institute), the French Research Institute Research Exploitation of the Sea (Ifremer), and the University of Montpellier (UM). The laboratory’s staff are based on the campuses of the University of Perpignan Via Domitia and the University of Montpellier (Faculty of Sciences). The laboratory is a member of the Labex networks “Mediterranean Center for Environment and Biodiversity” (CeMEB) and “Toward a Unified Theory of Biotic Interactions: The Role of Environmental Perturbations” (TULIP), and serves as a WHO collaborating center for its expertise on host-schistosome interactions (FRA-69). Our UMR develops integrative approaches to interacting biological systems involving various species of invertebrates: those of medical or veterinary interest (gastropod mollusks), those relevant to aquaculture (bivalve mollusks), and those of ecological interest (corals).
