Marcoule Institute for Separative Chemistry (ICSM)

The primary missions of the ICSM in response to energy challenges are to:

  • develop fundamental research in chemistry and physical chemistry of separation chemistry processes necessary for the growth of carbon-free energies, in a context of increasing scarcity of natural resources, by innovating to separate, sort, and recycle (strategic metals);
  • design and optimize materials to anticipate future cycles by developing research into sustainable nuclear power and alternative energies, with the aim of recycling valuable materials.
