Long Thematic Project Chemie durAble pouR La sAnte (CARLA)

Objectives - Sustainable chemistry to meet major societal challenges

The objectives of the CARLA Long-Term Thematic Project (PTL) are :

  • Attract and train a new generation of top-level researchers andProfessors , and perpetuate the scientific excellence of the cluster's teams;
  • Enhance the attractiveness of the site by creating a leverage effect on other competitive, high-visibility funding sources, notably national (CNRS, ANR, etc.) and European (MSCA, ERC, etc.);
  • To anchor sustainable development as a common thread running through all the scientific projects we support.
  • Anchor research at territorial and international levels.

Its ambition is to respond to societal challenges linked to human health and the environment, and to put sustainable chemistry at the heart of the design of molecules, materials and devices for healthcare.

Themes

Call for projects - Support for emerging talent

To meet these ambitions, the PTL CARLA relies on two annual calls for projects:

  • TALENTS: funding for four long-term (18-month) researcher fixed-term contracts, with €8,000 for operating costs per contract.
  • NEXT: funding for twelve Master 2 internships (6 months), including gratification and operating resources.

A mentoring program is offered to recipients of Master 2 internship grants (NEXT) with the following objectives:

  • Support in applying for competitive calls for proposals (MSCA, ERC, ANR, etc.);
  • Preparation and support for competitions for permanent positions (CNRS, MCU, etc.).
  • Identification of thesis projects to be pursued within the Chemistry cluster;
