A national conference in the Occitanie region, the First Science-Society Symposium, aims to strengthen cooperation between researchers and civil society and promote a better understanding of their interactions.
This conference is free and open to everyoneresearchers, field workers, nonprofit organizations, businesses, elected officials, students, teachers, engineers, local government technicians, citizens…
Registration is required… but free ! Registration will take place on-site at the reception desk starting at 9 a.m. on July 3.

Several objectives:

  • increase the visibility of stakeholders and initiatives at the science-society interface;
  • develop communities of practice between practitioners and researchers;
  • promote equitable partnerships among these stakeholders;
  • increase recognition and support from institutions and public policies.

On the agenda:

About fifty workshops, activities, roundtables, forum theater sessions… designed to be open, collaborative, and participatory, centered around five themes:

  • build platforms for science-society collaboration;
  • strengthen research capabilities across society;
  • make knowledge a common good;
  • rethinking progress;
  • explore and develop new ideas.

The conference also features a unique forum open to the general public, where, through a fun and engaging format, participants will have the opportunity to discover, learn about, and experience various science-society initiatives and programs that bring together researchers and citizens!
