1st Science and Society Conference at the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme Sud

A national event in the Occitanie region, the First Science-Society Conference aims to strengthen cooperation between researchers and civil society and promote greater awareness and recognition of their interactions.
Admission is free, and this conference is open to everyone :  researchers, field workers, nonprofit organizations, businesses, elected officials, students, teachers, engineers, local government technicians, citizens…
Registration is required… but free ! Registration will take place on-site at the reception desk starting July 3 at 9 a.m.

Several objectives:

• increase the visibility of stakeholders and initiatives at the intersection of science and society;
• develop communities of practice among practitioners and researchers;
• promote equitable partnerships among these stakeholders;
• strengthen recognition and support from institutions and public policies.

On the agenda:

About 50 workshops, activities, roundtable discussions, forum theater sessions, and more—all designed to be open, collaborative, and participatory—centered around five themes:

• build spaces for science-society cooperation;
• strengthen research capabilities throughout society;
• to make knowledge a common good;
• rethinking progress;
• explore and develop new ideas.

Les Assises is also a unique forum, open to the general public, where—through a fun and welcoming format—participants will have the opportunity to see, learn about, and experience various science-society initiatives and programs that bring together researchers and citizens!
