1st Science and Society Conference of the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme Sud

National meetings in the Occitanie region, the First Science-Society Conference, aim to strengthen cooperation between research stakeholders and civil society and enable better recognition of their interactions.
Free of charge, these conferences are open to everyone. : researchers, field workers, associations, businesses, elected officials, students, teachers, engineers, local technicians, citizens, etc.
Registration is mandatory... but free of charge ! Registration will take place on site, at the reception desk, starting July 3 at 9 a.m.
Several objectives:
- increase the visibility of actors and actions at the interface between science and society;
- develop communities of practice between field workers and researchers;
- promote equitable cooperation between these actors;
- strengthen recognition and support from institutions and public policies.
On the agenda:
Around fifty workshops, activities, round tables, forum theater sessions, etc., designed to be open, collaborative, and participatory, focusing on five areas:
- build spaces for cooperation between science and society;
- strengthen the research capabilities of society as a whole;
- make knowledge a common good;
- rethinking progress;
- explore and incubate new proposals.
Les Assises is also a unique forum, open to all audiences, where, through a fun and friendly format, participants will be able to see, learn about, and experience certain science-society initiatives and programs involving researchers and citizens!
