Botanical Nature Discovery Workshops at the Jardin des Plantes

As part of its ongoing efforts to raise awareness and in line with the guidelines set forth in its Ecological Transition Master Plan (SDTE), the University of Montpellier will continue its nature workshop program in the spring of 2026.

These workshops are free and open to all UMstaff, offering a unique opportunity to deepen their knowledge of local biodiversity. This season, they are being held at the Jardin des Plantes in Montpellier, a site listed as a Historic Site and Monument with over four centuries of scientific and botanical history.

Equipped with magnifying glasses for the botany workshops or nets for the entomology workshops, participants are invited to spend an hour discovering the rich ecosystems hidden in the heart of Montpellier. These moments of interaction and discovery also offer a unique opportunity for the facilitators to explain the complex interactions between plant and animal species, thereby illustrating the importance of ecological balance and the preservation of biodiversity.

Through these initiatives, the University of Montpellier reaffirms its commitment to knowledge, respect, and the protection of life—essential pillars of the ecological transition it champions and implements.
