For more than a decade, climate change has been a major focus of scientific research and political and public debate.

Like all sectors of society, scientific research is subject to scrutiny regarding the transition that must take place to reduce its carbon footprint. More and more laboratories are seeking to measure and reduce their environmental impact while maintaining the quality of their research projects.

In the context of a global climate emergency, academia has a role to play in generating knowledge, teaching, and raising general awareness of the issues.

This Science Bar is organized in partnership with Coordination Sciences et Société Occitanie Est and led by the University of Perpignan.

To discuss this topic, several multidisciplinary experts will gather and answer questions from the audience live:

  • Marie-Agnès COURTY, Geologist, Director of Research CNRS, PROMES laboratory;
  • Jean-Marc MOULIN, University Professor of Law, UPVD, CDED laboratory;
  • Régis OLIVES, University Professor in Engineering Sciences, UPVD, PROMES laboratory;
  • Marion PODESTA, Associate Professor authorized to supervise research in Economics, UPVD, ART-DEV laboratory.
