There will be more than 9 billion of us by 2050! This poses a real challenge for the future of global food security, which must address two major issues: population growth and environmental protection.

To meet its food needs, humanity will have to reduce its meat consumption, transform its agricultural production methods, and develop new agro-economic models.

From insects to urban farming, algae, and lab-grown meat, new trends are already emerging that are set to change the way we eat.

The first Science Bar of the 2020 season will be hosted by:

  • Stéphane Guilbert, Professor of Food Science at Sup’Agro Montpellier;
  • Ariane Sultan, Professor at Montpellier University Hospital, Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Nutrition.
