Montpellier Innovation Booster (BIM)

As a University Innovation Hub (PUI),the University of Montpellier helps to supportinnovation and boostthe region's appeal, with contributions from 15 research partners and 5 innovation stakeholders.

The Montpellier Innovation Booster (B.I.M.), established in 2020, is one of the PUI's initiatives aimed at identifying and promoting emerging innovative projects.

Since its creation, the B.I.M. has enabled 40 projects to benefit from funding, granting a total of more than €981,000 to promote and develop the winning projects.

For 2026, the B.I.M. is organizing four new sessions for emerging innovative project leaders from the University of Montpellier and its research partners. The B.I.M. is open to all topics.

The goal is to identify projects in the early stages of development and guide them toward the most suitable avenues for commercialization.

During the three days of training, you will receive coaching and advice and prepare for your pitch. A jury composed of I-SITE members will evaluate you and select the winners, who will be eligible for funding of up to €50,000. Following the competition, you will be offered tailored support.

To participate:

• All emerging projects led by staff from laboratories and structures dedicated to innovation within the ISITE Program of Excellence (PEI – full list: HERE), including researchers and Professors eligible for this program.
• All emerging projects led by students at the University of Montpellier are eligible.
• Projects led by project leaders outside the ISITE scope are eligible provided they demonstrate a substantial link with one of the laboratories or structures dedicated to innovation among the PEI partners. All emerging projects, whether led by companies or other entities, must meet this eligibility condition in order to be considered.
• The project leader also undertakes to be present during the three days of the session in question.
