CNRS Video Café: When Animals Talk to Humans

  • Category:
  • Dates: March 18, 2021
  • Schedule: 1:00 PM - 1:00 PM
  • Location:

The March Coffee & Video event is part of Brain Awareness Week 2021, the virtual edition!

On March 18 at 1:00 p.m., come see the movie When Animals Talk to Humans : Bats that babble like human babies or wolves that coordinate their actions in silence: the forms of animal communication are astonishing. But what about the possibility of dialogue with humans? Since the late 1950s, researchers around the world have attempted to decode animal communication methods. In recent years, they have shifted their approach: the goal is no longer to teach animals our language, but to decipher theirs in order to communicate with them.

After the screening, you’ll have the opportunity to meet Aurélie Célérier, a researcher at CEFE, and Edwin Garzon, an ethologist (animal behavior specialist), and ask them questions in person.
