Civil Engineering and Sustainable Construction Challenge

The Department of Civil Engineering and Sustainable Construction (GCCD) at the IUT de Nîmes is organizing the^9thedition of the Civil Engineering and Sustainable Construction Challenge, which will take place from June 10 to 12, 2025, at the IUT de Nîmes.

This event will provide an opportunity for students from the 29 civil engineering departments at IUTs in mainland France and overseas territories, as well as construction professionals and members of the academic community, to meet and discuss current topics in the field of civil engineering, such as sustainable construction, mobility and urban planning, and technological advancements.

This challenge invites students to master digital
modeling tools and to develop practical solutions that address the challenges posed by climate change.

The 6,500 students in the GCCD Bachelor’s program will participate in the 9th annual Civil Engineering and Sustainable Construction Challenge, organized by the Civil Engineering Department at the Nîmes University Institute of Technology (IUT). Their projects, developed throughout the year, will then be selected for presentation to an audience of students, professionals, and stakeholders in the construction industry.

Program:

Tuesday, June 10

• 12:00 p.m.: Welcome for the teams
• 2:00–7:00 p.m.: technical, athletic, and cultural events

Wednesday, June 11

• 8:30 a.m.: Visitors welcome at the booths
• 9 a.m.–1 p.m.: Presentations and selection of finalists
• 2:00 p.m.: hands-on workshops

Thursday, June 12

• 8:30 a.m.: Welcome for professionals
• 9 a.m.–12 p.m.: Presentations by the winning teams
• 12:30 p.m.: Awards ceremony and networking session
