Conference: “Health, Architecture, and Urban Space – Digital Environments”
This event has already taken place!
Friday, October 20, 2017, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Montpellier National School of Architecture (ENSAM), Lecture Hall 1
Conference open to healthcare professionals, architects, urban planners, IT specialists, local government officials, and members of the public with an interest in or connection to issues related to the digital environment, living spaces, or architecture and health.
E-health and the connected city are part of what we might call the “augmented human,” made possible by digital technology, robotics, home automation, and artificial intelligence. The integration of digital technologies into various aspects of daily life—for people of all ages, all activities, and all life circumstances—affects us all collectively, but also as individuals.
New adaptations are emerging in response to changes in lifestyles, living spaces, and land use planning. In these new living environments—particularly in healthcare, where telemedicine does not encompass the full scope of digital technology, and in architecture and urban spaces, where home automation also does not encompass the full scope of digital technology—the individual, the “augmented human,” is constantly exposed to data flows in which they participate, whether voluntarily or not, and with varying degrees of awareness.
The purpose of this conference is to bring together all these perspectives in order to better understand their implications and the best ways to address them in the context of health—both in our daily lives and over time.
