Conference-debate: “Where there’s a will, there’s a way!” Meritocracy in question

Are social advancement and success truly achieved through merit? Is the American dream of someone who builds themselves up from nothing and becomes a great figure in the world through hard work nothing more than a myth? Does a meritocratic education system provide equal opportunities for everyone? Is this system compatible with the democratic ideal upheld in our society? The ideology of merit-based ranking conveys many preconceived ideas in our society.

Lola Guillot, a doctoral student in political science at AgroParisTech, will share her vision of meritocracy through an original gestural lecture.
