Collaboration Between Families and Early Childhood Professionals: European Perspectives and Methods.
Organized by LIRDEF, the IRTS in Montpellier, and the Faculty of Education at the University of Montpellier.

In a rapidly changing world, sectors directly involved in childcare—and early childhood care in particular—must adapt to numerous shifts in institutional and organizational priorities. In Europe in particular, socio-demographic and political contexts—even more so in cross-border areas than in other regions—are changing rapidly, bringing with them both disruptions and opportunities (population flows in general and migratory movements in particular, varying political responses, diverse manifestations of multiculturalism, and the specific characteristics of contexts and time periods). These changes have a significant impact both on the daily lives of the public (primarily families) and on the relationship to work of the social actors involved (Torterat & Azaoui, 2021).
