Video Game Play: Develop Healthy Habits to Avoid Parent-Child Conflicts
Thursday, November 30, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Institute of Botany, Charles Flahault Auditorium
Lecture led by Antoine Chollet, Associate Professor in the Computer Science Department at the Montpellier University Institute of Technology (University of Montpellier) and a member of the Montpellier Research (MRM) laboratory, within the Information Systems group.
This public lecture aims to address video game addiction as well as the taboos surrounding this behavior (addiction, violence, and isolation).
The goal is to address the questions that parents and children may have about video game play.
Suggestions are offered to encourage positive behaviors and habits: for children, to help them develop a passion for their chosen activity, and for parents, to help them better understand this sometimes underappreciated hobby. The goal is to provide food for thought on how to rebuild communication and strengthen the parent-child bond around this popular hobby, which can sometimes hold wonderful surprises.
