Video Game Play: Develop the Right Habits to Avoid Parent-Child Conflicts

Lecture led by Antoine Chollet, Associate Professor in the Computer Science Department at the Montpellier University Institute of Technology (IUT) (University of Montpellier) and a member of the Montpellier Research Management (MRM) laboratory, within the Information Systems group.
The purpose of this public lecture is to address video game addiction as well as the taboos surrounding this behavior (addiction, violence, and isolation).
The goal is to explore the questions that parents and children may have about video game play.
Suggestions are offered to encourage positive behaviors and habits: for children, to raise their awareness of pursuing their own passions; and for parents, to help them understand this sometimes little-known hobby. The goal is to provide food for thought to help restore communication and connection between parents and children around this popular hobby, which can sometimes hold wonderful surprises.

The university sought to highlight these experts and make their knowledge accessible to as many people as possible by offering a unique lecture series, with one event per month from October 2017 to May 2018.
