Video games: adopt the right reflexes to avoid parent-child conflicts
Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Institut de Botanique, Charles Flahault amphitheatre

Conference led by Antoine Chollet, Senior Lecturer in the IT department of the Montpellier IUT (University of Montpellier) and member of the Montpellier Research Management (MRM) laboratory, within the Information Systems group.
The aim of this public conference is to discuss the abusive use of video games and the taboos surrounding this practice (abuse, violence and isolation).
The aim is to examine the questions parents and children may have about playing video games.
Suggestions are put forward for adopting the right behaviors and reflexes: for children, to make them more aware of their own passion, and for parents, to help them understand this sometimes little-known hobby. The aim is to suggest ways of re-establishing communication and contact between parents and children in this popular pastime, which can sometimes conceal some wonderful surprises.

UM Thursdays

The University of Montpellier, with its eight faculties, two schools and 6 institutes, has a wealth of teachers and researchers in a wide variety of fields. It wanted to highlight them and make them accessible to as many people as possible by offering a new cycle of lectures at the rate of one appointment per month from October 2017 to May 2018.
