This event has already taken place!
Tuesday, March 21, 2017, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
School of Law and Political Science, Lecture Hall D, 1st floorer floor of Building 1
Organized by AFFDO (French Association of Families for Organ Donation)
During this conference, we invite you to explore the topic of organ donation from a different perspective.
Talking about organ donation in a different way means adopting a positive outlook—not fixating on the end of life, but understanding what an act of solidarity can mean for patients awaiting transplants. Talking about organ donation in a different way means understanding that saving lives beyond one’s own is not just a slogan but a reality that cannot leave anyone indifferent.
It is absolutely essential that all our fellow citizens feel this is their concern…
Raising awareness and promoting a better understanding of organ donation in our country is the only way to gain acceptance for it and encourage each of us to make an informed decision of our own free will.
We all know that donations are rare and precious, and openly expressing our gratitude to donors is obviously another way to raise awareness among the French public and encourage them to donate.
To talk about organ donation is to say, time and again, that this gift of life is possible only thanks to a small number of donors who inspire our admiration.
Speakers:
- Florence Vachiéry, referring physician, coordinating hospital physician;
- Gérard Garcia, president of Affdo;
- Emmanuel Terrier, Associate Professor at the Private Law Laboratory of the Faculty of Law and Political Science in Montpellier.
