How can we leverage professional development opportunities to enhance student success and make our programs more appealing?

As part of its “Educational Day” event, the Center for Educational Innovation (CSIP) is hosting a conference on the topic of professional development for higher education faculty as a key factor in student success and the appeal of academic programs.

The goal is to discuss the following questions:

Transforming teaching practices to better accommodate the growing diversity of the student body… Engaging in a process of educational transformation…

Why? What are the concrete benefits in terms of student success?

How? Professional development: a lifelong learning approach? (Updating teaching practices, drawing on reflective approaches…)

How can it contribute to the development of skills related to the profession? How can this be facilitated? What support systems are currently available for university faculty members?

To discuss these major issues in higher education, we are pleased to welcome Christelle Lison, a professor in the Department of Pedagogy at the Faculty of Education at the University of Sherbrooke (Quebec, Canada).

This conference is accompanied by a training workshop offered in the afternoon.
