The Musée Atger in Montpellier has an exceptional collection of drawings and prints from the French, Italian, and Nordic schools of the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries, patiently assembled by the discerning art lover Xavier Atger, who donated it to the Faculty of Medicine in the early 19th century. Through classical nude drawings and academic studies, the theme of the body runs through the Atger collection and fits perfectly into a place dedicated to medicine and anatomy.
N°5 gallery and the lieu multiple montpellier are inviting 10 contemporary artists to take part in this exhibition-tour, combining the discovery or rediscovery of this exceptional heritage with its resonance with today's visual arts on the theme of anatomy.
