Photography exhibition “Humans in their gardens”
This event has passed!
Tuesday to Saturday from noon to 8 p.m.; Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
Jardin des Plantes, Boulevard Henri IV, 34000 Montpellier.
Created by photographer Cédric Matet, in an artistic and scientific dialogue with Prof. Gérald Chanques, the exhibition is a final celebration of the 800th anniversary of the Faculty of Medicine. The meeting between the artist and the doctor inspired the creation of a project combining emblematic pieces from the anatomy conservatory with plants from the faculty's botanical garden, in the spirit of the masters of Montpellier Medical University who, since the Middle Ages, have studied the human being in its entirety and in all its dimensions, including its natural environment and the arts.
This garden exhibition will be complemented in the fall by the work of two guest digital artists, Jane Kleis and Luc Parat, who will create video pieces that will establish a digital continuity, pushing the boundaries of the garden and the museum in an experience that is both more intimate and more immersive.
