Photography Exhibition: “People in Their Gardens”

Tuesday through Saturday from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM; Sunday from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Curated by photographer Cédric Matet in an artistic and scientific collaboration with Prof. Gérald Chanques, the exhibition serves as a final celebration of the Faculty of Medicine’s 800th anniversary. The collaboration between the artist and the physician inspired the creation of a project blending iconic pieces from the anatomy collection with plants from the faculty’s botanical garden, in the spirit of the masters of the Montpellier Medical University who, since the Middle Ages, have studied the human being in its entirety and across all its dimensions, including its natural environment and the arts.

This outdoor exhibition will be complemented this fall by the work of two guest digital artists, Jane Kleis and Luc Parat, who will create video installations designed to establish a digital continuity, thereby blurring the boundaries between the garden and the museum in an experience that is both more intimate and more immersive.
