This event has passed!
Saint-Jean-de-Védas Media Library: October1 –November 3, 2025
Garcia Lorca Media Library (Montpellier): November 21, 2025–January 14, 2026

What do bees and dung beetles have in common? Which dinosaurs were related to birds? How are new species discovered and named? Through observing real specimens of birds such as juvenile albatrosses (University of Montpellier), beetles (Center for Biology and Population Management), and a cast of an archaeopteryx (Montpellier Institute of Evolutionary Sciences), immerse yourself in the daily life of a naturalist.
These two traveling exhibitions invite you to explore biodiversity in children's literature! Comics, picture books, manga... children's books are full of species, both real and imaginary.
The LitterNature exhibition tour begins in Occitanie with the Birds and Dinosaurs exhibition. This exhibition highlights the links between birds and dinosaurs, inviting the public to explore the continuities of evolution. Through children's illustrations and bird specimens, young and old alike can discover the history of evolution and its traces in the present day.
The tour will then move to Alsace from March 24 to July 2026 with the Plants and Insects exhibition. This exhibition explores the relationship between plants and insects, which is essential to the balance of ecosystems. Combining naturalist observation and children's literature, it invites visitors to rediscover the classification of living things and observe the interactions that shape biodiversity.
This tour is part of the University of Montpellier's Science with and for Society certification program and will take place throughout France between 2025 and 2027.
