Do we still need to build roads? The case of Montpellier's western bypass

  • Category: Conference

At a time when climate change is forcing us to rethink the way we travel, investing in new road infrastructure seems to belong to an outdated paradigm.
The Montpellier Western Bypass project illustrates this dilemma: meet immediate needs while increasing our dependence on the car, or commit fully to a sustainable transition. Should we still be building roads in 2025?
