Women and men at work: double standards
This event is over!
Conference moderated by Agnès Fichard-Carroll, Vice-President of Training and University Life and in charge of gender equality.
Speakers:
- Karen Messing, Professor Emeritus in the Department of Biological Sciences at the Université du Québec à Montréal, internationally recognized for her expertise on the issue of women's bodies at work.
- Beatrice Barthe, Senior Lecturer in Ergonomics and President of the Société d'Ergonomie de Langue Française.
- Florence Chappert, project manager for "Gender, equality, health and working conditions" at the Agence Nationale pour l'Amélioration des Conditions de Travail.
On the job market, women are still too often considered the "second sex": their bodies, their tasks and their social role are often relegated to the background. Inappropriate tools, gendered work, gender-differentiated impact of work, persistent inequalities and taboos: what can we do to improve working conditions for women? How can we reconcile the fight for equality with the protection of women's health?
Based on excerpts from Karen Messing's book, three nationally and internationally renowned specialists will answer all our questions and show us that the issue of women's bodies at work is central to the theme of gender equality.
