The Occitanie-Est regional final of "Ma Thèse en 180 Seconds", a
science popularization show highlighting young regional researchers
.

Ma thèse en 180 secondes is an international scientific mediation competition open to French-speaking PhD students from all over the world. Summarize your research topic in three minutes, while making it exciting and understandable to everyone: that's the challenge set by the international " MT180s " competition for doctoral students taking part in this adventure.

Each doctoral student must give a clear, concise yet convincing presentation of his or her research project in just three minutes. 20 PhD students from universities and institutions in the Occitanie-Est region will take part in the regional final of this competition, to be held on Monday March 11, 2024 in the Mousseron amphitheater of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Montpellier (ENSCM).

This year, the Occitanie-Est regional final of "Ma Thèse en 180 secondes" was a real success, with all places reserved. To ensure access to an ever-growing audience, the event will be broadcast live on Campus Mag Occitanie's Youtube channel.

At the end of this regional final, the two doctoral students chosen will represent the academic zone at the national level in Paris (in the semi-finals) and will try to qualify for the national final, and even the international final if they manage to stay in the adventure.

"Ma Thèse en 180 secondes" aims to showcase the dynamism of research in the French-speaking world through its young researchers, revealing their ability to popularize their research work, raising awareness of the importance of science-society dialogue and encouraging career development. It's also an opportunity to raise awareness of the doctorate, a degree that is still largely unknown to the general public.

The final of the "Occitanie-Est" regional "Ma thèse en 180 secondes" competition, coordinated by the Collège Doctoral Languedoc-Roussillon, the Collège Doctoral de l'Université de Montpellier and the CNRS regional delegation, alongside their partners (Région Occitanie, Métropole de Nîmes, Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole), is part of the international competition run by France Universités and CNRS.
