The experience of a transdisciplinary working group in Brazil
Interactions between scientific knowledge and political decision-making in health-environment.
Inaugural session of the permanent seminar organized by the Institut ExposUM's Interface Sciences- Société axis.
With Jean-Paul Metzger, MAKIT guest researcher
How can we define global mitigation strategies for health-environment issues adapted to the local context? How can we strengthen transdisciplinary collaboration between the academic world and the political sphere?
Jean Paul Metzger, ecologist at the University of São Paulo and Mak'It guest researcher, will talk about his work and the BiotaSynthesis project involving both the academic sector and members of government around health-environment issues. He will underline the importance of health-environment syntheses in fostering dialogue between science and policy, and in particular public policy on prevention.
He will also discuss the role of the environment in this project, often underestimated in One Health approaches, and its impact on public policy.
Event organized as part of the Institut ExposUM with the support of Mak'IT, Université de Montpellier.

Participation is free, but registration is compulsory due to vigipirate orders.
