The experience of a transdisciplinary working group in Brazil

Interactions between scientific knowledge and political decision-making in environmental health.

Inaugural session of the ongoing seminar led by the Science-Society Interface division of the ExposUM Institute.

With Jean-Paul Metzger, visiting researcher at MAKIT

How can we define comprehensive mitigation strategies for health and environmental issues that are tailored to the local context? How can we strengthen cross-disciplinary collaboration between academia and the political sphere?

Jean Paul Metzger, ecologist at the University of São Paulo and Mak'It guest researcher, will talk to us about his work and the BiotaSynthesis project, which involves both the academic sector and members of the government in addressing health and environmental issues. He will highlight the importance of synthetic approaches to health and the environment in promoting dialogue between science and policy, particularly in the area of public prevention policies.
He will also discuss the role of the environment in this project, which is often underestimated in One Health approaches, and its impact on public policy.

Event organized as part of the ExposUM Institute with the support of Mak'IT, University of Montpellier.

Participation is free, but registration is required due to security measures.
