INVERT’EXPO – School of Sciences

A photography exhibition presented at the Science Library by the CARABES association.

The original project INvertedDEX organized by the student association CARABES ( Research , Applied to Ecosystem Biodiversity) at the University of Montpellier aims to develop a mobile app that allows users to conduct naturalist surveys and easily identify invertebrates in their natural habitats.

To provide this tool with a collection of high-quality images, a photo contest open to everyone was organized in the summer of 2021.

Through February 11, 2022, this exhibition showcases the best photos submitted by the contest winners and highlights various aspects of this ambitious outreach project, which received support from the University’s Faculty of Sciences and the FSDIE. It offers an educational look at how this app works, using a scientific approach to engage the general public and promote understanding of biodiversity.
