Many issues currently surround the production ofbig data. Scientific research is obviously not immune to this phenomenon, which is a result of the digital revolution and whose effects can be seen as soon as the data is acquired. The formulation of scientific hypotheses based on data analysis is becoming standard practice in the production of scientific knowledge, opening up new perspectives for reflection on data acquisition, storage, and archiving practices in order to make them "FAIR" (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable). These changes also affect the practices of data dissemination and promotion in the collaborative and competitive context of scientific research.

Based on these elements and the many questions they raise (access/dissemination/sharing, scientific integrity, traceability, exploitation), the interdisciplinary CommonData project is continuing its program with this third study day, devoted to the storage and archiving of research data.

Issues relating to the durability of storage and archiving methods will be addressed, as well as those relating to the contractual guarantees provided by service providers and the legal classification of research data in accordance with the legal provisions applicable to public data and archives.
