5G in question: Opportunities or Threats?

Video conference available on YouTube and Facebook.
As part of the "Rendez-vous de l'Eco" series, the Faculty of Economics at the University of Montpellier I-site MUSE, in partnership with Midi Libre, is organizing a debate on the topic of 5G onDecember 15, 2020, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
As 5G arrives in France, there are still many questions being raised in public debate. More waves and a migration to higher frequencies are reigniting concerns about the health consequences of 5G.
More recent is the question of whether it is appropriate to launch 5G at a time when we are discovering the role that digital technology plays in energy consumption.
Finally, there are many questions about the added value of this new generation of mobile technology: how does 5G represent an improvement on 4G, which still struggles to cover the whole country? Will it duplicate fiber optics? Are France and Europe really lagging behind the rollouts seen in the United States and Asia?
Round table discussion moderated by Olivier Biscaye, Editorial Director of Midi Libre.
