Adolescence at the crossroads of influences
This event has passed!
A few (simple) tools to understand their complexity and dynamics...
Teenagers tend to adopt behaviors similar to those of their friends, and also tend to befriend peers who have similar interests and behaviors to their own.
- How do affinity groups evolve?
- What role does behavioral similarity play in the formation of friendships?
- In return, what role do friendships play in the homogenization of behaviors, whether healthy or risky?
To answer these questions, Professor van Geert will present a computer tool that, based on social psychology research, simulates in a user-friendly way the complexity of adolescents' social interactions and the resulting behavioral dynamics. This will allow us to see how adolescents' behavioral profiles evolve based on their social interactions, but also how these interactions evolve based on the behaviors adopted.
This event is organized by the Chair of Sports Psychology at the University of Montpellier Foundation, with the support of Banque Populaire du Sud and the City of Montpellier, as part of the Jean Bilard Days.
