The contribution of communication sciences to intermediation professions
While the "One Health" concept aims to integrate the human, animal and environmental dimensions of health, its implementation reveals a plurality of visions that are often in tension. This session will look at the communication challenges inherent in this approach, highlighting the strategic importance of intermediation in articulating knowledge, fostering interdisciplinary cooperation and building a truly inclusive and sustainable global health project.
Nicolas Duracka is a lecturer in information and communication sciences at the Université de Montpellier Paul Valéry, and works on the communication processes of social change actors. His current research focuses on the communication dynamics of One Health actors. He studies international public health as an object that has undergone profound change, considering that the health of human beings will only be guaranteed on the condition of the good health of animals and our ecosystems. The success of this paradigm shift depends on improved communication between the different spheres of human, animal and environmental health.
