The Challenges of Data Reproducibility
This event has already taken place!
The UM’s Open Science and Research Support Team is continuing its series of webinars on open science!
These webinars cover a variety of topics related to open science, scientific publications, research data, and digital identifiers.
They are held every other Tuesday, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., and include a presentation (lasting 20 to 40 minutes) followed by a discussion.
Upcoming webinar on June 10, 2025: The Challenges of Data Reproducibility
The reproducibility crisis highlights the difficulties scientists face in replicating research results.
It was around the turn of the 21st century that the scientific community began to observe a resurgence of these challenges (2005, John P.A. Ionnidis). This crisis, which persists to this day, has led scientists to reevaluate their practices regarding integrity, openness, and the management of research data and scientific outputs.
Gabriel Bayle, Ph.D. in Economics and a member of the Group for Economic Analysis and Theory (GATE, CNRS, Université Lumière Lyon 2), actively advocates for greater reproducibility of research results, particularly through the practice of replication and open data, the pre-registration of studies, and the use of experimental protocols.
These webinars will then be posted on the UM’s YouTube channel, in the “Science” playlist.
