After centuries of eclipse, the Olympic Games were symbolically reborn in Greece in 1896. Today, the Olympic Games are the world's premier event, propelling a city and a country into the spotlight in the image of Paris 2024. Anchored in ever-changing political and geopolitical contexts, and bearing the hallmarks of social and societal change, the Olympic and Paralympic Games are a showcase for world, national and even regional history, with each Olympiad offering a glimpse into an era. During this conference, the athletes' exploits in the arena and their multiple echoes will be presented, enabling us to recall unique moments and discover enlightening stories.
