"Wednesdays of Knowledge": “How Can We Educate Those Who Are Not in School?”
This event has already taken place!
Antoine Gentil is a special education teacher. He worked in child welfare facilities and juvenile detention centers before founding the experimental Starter program (Grenoble School District), which each year enrolls 15 ninth-grade students at risk of dropping out. Together with his team, he guides them toward earning their Brevet and choosing a career path, while working to restore their self-esteem. He is the central figure in the inspiring documentary *Un bon début* by Agnès and Xabi Molia, who followed him for a year in the Starter class. In 2024, he published *Classe réparatoire: A Path to Reconciliation with School* with Presses universitaires grenobloises.
