  • Category:
  • Dates : November 30, 2023
  • Opening hours: 5 to 7 p.m.
  • Venue: Institut de Botanique, amphi Flahault - 163 rue Auguste Broussonnet

Join us at the next MAK'IT Talk for a journey into the ever-changing world of open science. Our distinguished panel of four experts, recognized for their significant contributions ranging from the global governance of open science to the democratization of research through citizen science, will share their perspectives on how to optimize open science practices.

The discussion will address challenges ranging from predatory journals to open access fees, explore the balance between intellectual property rights and the free sharing of knowledge, and examine the inequalities researchers face when accessing open science. Focusing on the role of citizen engagement, institutional support and global collaboration, we will reflect on the broader dimensions of open science, encompassing not only publications, but also open hardware, software, research methodologies and much more.

This event will take place entirely in English. A cocktail reception will follow for this first debate of the academic year.
