The Faculty of Pharmacy's Health Engineering master's program presents a play entitled Apnea, which raises questions of medical ethics.

The performance will take place on Wednesday January 31 at 5:30pm, in the Amphi Flahault of the Institut Botanique. It will be followed by a discussion led by philosopher Christelle Nelaton and author Sophie Torresi.

The session is open to all, with online registration required.

Apnea is a theatrical docu-drama that examines the impact of a child's chronic illness on the personal and family sphere, through the prism of the maternal relationship.

The play also recounts the announcement of a transplant, the parents' disagreement with this surgical project and the consequences of this choice on the therapeutic relationship. It addresses issues of medical communication, consent to care, third-party decision-making, patients' rights and the management of uncertainty. Its aim is to contribute to the debate on healthcare democracy.

Apnée was created in 2022 with creative support from the DRAC and the Hauts-de-France region. Since then, the project has attracted numerous partnerships in the fields of health and human sciences, particularly in the field of ethics.
