Prototypes. From experimentation to innovation, the Occitan example

  • Category: Exhibition
  • Dates : April 17 to September 17, 2023
  • Location: Musée du Saut du Tarn de Saint-Juéry (81) - 2 Impasse des Aciéries 81160 Saint-Juéry

Every day except Saturday: 2 pm to 6 pm. July and August: 2pm to 7pm. Closed May 1st and November 1st.

Based on an original idea from the national PATSTEC network, exhibition co-produced by the regional PATSTEC missions of the University of Montpellier and the University of Toulouse, in partnership with the Centre de l'Imaginaire Scientifique et Technique and the Musée du Saut du Tarn, with financial support from the Occitanie / Pyrénées-Méditerranée Region.

Through a series of objects, interviews and animations, visitors are led to consider the notion of prototypes. Indispensable for discoveries great and small, prototypes tell the story behind the scenes in laboratories; their history makes us aware of the challenges, but also the difficulties and hesitations. They are the fruit of collective adventures, encounters and opportunities. And prototypes sometimes leave the laboratory bench to plunge into the world of business. But beyond the technological dimension they contain, prototypes are first and foremost horizons openers, present in many fields and in a wide variety of forms. Both unique and endangered, they are today a precious heritage to be preserved for future generations, on pain of irreversible loss of knowledge.
