Contemporary global issues such as climate change, biodiversity loss and resource depletion represent formidable societal challenges that require structural changes involving interactions between science, technology, politics, economics and markets, culture and public opinion. These changes involve complex processes involving multiple stakeholders with diverse narratives, conflicting interests and alternative visions of the future, and in most cases generate lively controversies.

How can we identify and deal with these controversies and the resulting conflicts? How can we address their multidimensional nature? What frameworks and approaches can help us, collectively, to better understand and deal with them?

At this MAK'IT Talk, two leading experts will discuss the controversies surrounding today's global challenges and socio-technical transitions. They will present different approaches and methodologies for addressing these controversies constructively, fostering dialogue between different stakeholders and bringing about the necessary transformations.
