Synopsis

The early 1990s. With AIDS having been killing people for nearly a decade, activists from Act Up-Paris stepped up their efforts to combat widespread indifference.

Discussion with Emmanuelle Cosse, president of Act Up-Paris from 1999 to 2001

In 1992, Emmanuelle Cosse joined Act Up-Paris, where she served as treasurer before becoming president from 1999 to 2001. At the age of 25, she was the first heterosexual, HIV-negative woman to lead the AIDS advocacy group.
From 2013 to 2016, she was national secretary of Europe Ecology – The Greens, then Minister of Housing from 2016 to 2017.
