For two days, nearly a hundred students from the Occitanie region will be taking part in a digital edition of the eco-citizen role-playing game supported by the University of Montpellier, and designed and organized by Les ateliers ludosophiques.

The theme of this3rd edition of SIM'Universités is sustainable food and agricultural policy in Europe. This vast societal topic, which integrates the food system from production to consumption to waste, has an impact on the environment and food safety.

It will enable participants to simulate the workings of the major European institutions - the European Parliament and the Council of the EU - and to play the various decisive roles of ministers, MEPs, civil society representatives, NGOs, lobbyists and journalists in relation to this theme.

An approach inspired by American grandes écoles and universities

SIM'Universités' rich two-day program offers an immersive experience and a unique opportunity to learn about international relations and European politics. Its original concept enables participants to develop negotiation and argumentation skills, as well as sharpen their critical thinking. What's more, recruiters are increasingly appreciating the value of this approach.

Gaming as a serious tool

Games are a powerful tool for understanding today's world and imagining tomorrow's. This is the approach taken by Ateliers ludosophiques: an association founded in 2016 that invents playful, but no less serious, educational tools: escape games, philosophical games, role-playing games...

The Université de Montpellier and the Université Paul Valéry Montpellier 3 are supporting them in organizing SIM'Universités for students from the academic sites of Occitanie Est.
