Emma and Anaïs are inseparable, and yet they are polar opposites. *Adolescentes* follows their journey from age 13 until they come of age—five years of life filled with transformations and firsts. By the time they turn 18, we find ourselves wondering what kind of women they have become and where their friendship stands. Through this chronicle of youth, the film also paints a portrait of France over the past five years.
